At Happy Learning, we believe that English can be learnt effectively, practically and with enjoyment at the same time. We create an environment where children, students and adults are not afraid to communicate, make progress at their own pace and gain confidence in using English.
IN WHAT WAY ARE WE DIFFERENT?
COMMUNICATION
We do not teach English from a textbook. We use current articles and read classic English literature. In our lessons, we create space for real communication – students speak, react, ask questions, express their attitudes, develop critical thinking, and use English in practical situations.
INDIVIDUAL APPROACH
Every student is different. We adapt the teaching to their level, needs and goals so that they can improve at their own pace and feel comfortable in their lessons. This is best enabled by one-to-one learning in person or online.
CRITICAL THINKING
We develop critical thinking. We guide students to think, ask questions, express their own opinions, and be able to clearly explain and defend their thoughts in English. Students write essays, articles, and other genres. They learn to use the English language in situations where they take a stance on complex issues.
BALANCED DEVELOPMENT OF ALL LANGUAGE SKILLS
We develop all four language skills – listening, speaking, reading and writing. We rigorously analyse the level of each skill for every student and adapt the teaching method and content accordingly. All four language skills are tested in Cambridge exams.
MODERN AND PRACTICAL EDUCATION
In our lessons we use modern methods and materials that connect English with real life. We use magazines published by Bridge Publishing House in Prague. At higher levels we use works of classical English literature. Students read books in English and complete corresponding tasks based on them.
